I have never been to a Big Boy restaurant or its affiliates like Shoney's. Never one close to my residence.
Lots of McDonald's, Burger King, In-N-Out, and Carls Jr locations, though...and a few deluxe diners. Mel's Drive-In and Nation's in the San Francisco Bay Area has the best deluxe burger.

Big Boy packed up long ago- blasted off with Doctor Evil sometime in the 80s.
But we're not hurting for burgers here- BeBops is a fifties-themed drive thru, Culvers has the upscale meat and cheese, Smashburger has some exotic combos, etcetera etcetera.
But the Big Boy lives on in our hearts. Every time I bite into a dry, gamey burger or flatten out a straw in a rock solid shake... each waxy, limp fry that I bite into- the spirit of Big Boy is there to stand over me like Astro Boy's forgotten, weight-challenged sibling, and smile approvingly.
But we're not hurting for burgers here- BeBops is a fifties-themed drive thru, Culvers has the upscale meat and cheese, Smashburger has some exotic combos, etcetera etcetera.
