This is a quick little overview of my own personal "complexity guide." Please note that complexity includes little "picky" things. It's explained below.
This chart is read in columns.
A = Simplicity, E = Complexity.
The more the scale slides over to (E) the character design becomes more complex.
Total Word count: (Less than ~300)
Generally a good rule of thumb is, be honest with your own design.
Consider how much time it would take to make your character.
Can you also describe your OC design in two sentences or less?
Example: "B1 is a dark blue wolf, and with yellow eyes, and a special marking on the forehead."
The more specific fur patterns, markings are, the more it counts as complex.
Mandatory accessories, also complex.
Gradients or too many colors? Complex.
Tiny details such as realism, or a mandatory color (hex code) required? Complex.
Attention to details = time = complexity.
Note: Complexity in this context IS interchangeable with being "picky."
There is nothing wrong with being picky about your OC design at all.
Be respectful and kind when ordering, and we will be happy to work with you.
A1 Canine. (Folf Hybrid.) minimum 5 colors or less.
A2 Avian. (white morph gyrfalcon) simple colors, realistic beak for the species.
B1 Canine. (Wolf.) minimal colors, one single special marking on the forehead.
B2 Cervid. (Mechanical Toy.) Minimal colors. No fur. Material = metal.
C1 Original Species. (Zorgoia.) Lots of gradients. Special Accessory (mandatory) reflective and translucent.
C2 Original Species. (Amphimorpho.) Minimal colors. Minimal markings. No fur. Material = Latex
