Leyvellete has been smitten by Rhode for some time by the time this all happens, but was reluctant to act on it due to multiple fears. Valuing her current friendship and not wanting to strain it if the feelings weren't reciprocated. Respecting Rhode and Spike's closeness (potentially more than that?) and not wanting to cut into that. Persistent feelings of being the outsider despite how much time has past. Nevermind her turbulent teenage years all the ups and downs and flings they've seen her go through that may give the impression of her being a flighty, cold partner.

She finally gets to the point probably while being a bit too drunk for her own good, but at least she finally put it out there. (they have a much more serious talk about it all after this awkward pseudo-confession.)

As a sidebar, the more Leyvellete likes someone the easier it is to get her flustered . Sure, strangers can charm her, that's one thing, but getting her flustered requires that she has to actually like you.
