With Jay is a whole other story. From the outside his family seems like a sophisticated but still average bunch, following the motions most well adjusted families do, but Jay is fully aware of the strange self imposed distance they have, which is even more apparent to Jay as he's always considered a cousin or a nephew, yet never a brother or son, except for his great grandmother, being the only one that treats him with a sort of familiarity, even when he doesn't really know her much. And now with his transformation underway, this chasm has only grown larger and stranger.
