A bit of a personal piece for me.. both of these characters are essentially me in another shape, but from different times. Luce was my fursona since I was a teenager up until I was about 20. Back then, I really wasn't the nicest person and I was very, very depressed. Luce comes with a lot of negativity from my past, as that's what she was born from. Percy is my fursona now, and while I still battle depression I try my hardest to see the light in things, one of those things being myself and my past.
If I am ever going to love myself, I need to love all of me. Even the bad parts, even the hard parts. So I decided to draw, in the simplest terms, my present self reassuring my past self.

Heh, when I was stuck in depression, I'm not gonna lie, I was a pretty awful person myself. When we hurt ourselves, even if just emotionally, we inevitably don't shy away from hurting others either, maybe even just to prove to ourselves that we should hate ourselves. But yeah, even with all of our flaws, we are deserving of love, and being able to love oneself is a vital part of it. You are amazing, okay? :) You couldn't be who you are without being who you were first.
