WIP for two reasons
1: I need to adjust the belt loops so it stands vs drags (that top spine should be almost touching ones back! I so need to adjust the loops!)
2: this is part of a fullsuit
the underscales are scale print fake leather quilted with 4 layers of batting material sandwiched in there...utter murder to sew through >_0 I am on high alert for broken needles the whole time XD

well I wear glasses so I am semi protected, and for the most part the broken tip gets caught in the fur... one does fly on occasion...but the danger is fairly low...However, the fact the risk is fairly low does not stop me from flipping out just due to the gawd awful noise the machine makes when one breaks XD that jarring noise scars the piss outta me pffft X3
yeah i know ive broken my share of needles
x.x; ive had a needle shatter and part of the broken shaft (about 3mm behind the needle eye) lodge about 2mm from the outer corner of my eye x.x;
and the sound ... "paddadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadaBANGCLACKCLACKCLACKCRUNCH!clunkclunkcluck" x.X; not to mention the destruction of half a yard of annoyingly expensive satin x.x;

it makes no sound but it did turn out kinda crinkly looking 3:
It was perfectly flat when first making it, which is done inside out, and when I turned it right side around I was like "what the flip?" my mom however says she loves it all textured looking and said flat was boring X3

btw since the quilted scales turned out better than you imagined, um are they okay for the chest too? because if yes then I will just make the chest scales sewn in and have the zipper down the back.
If you still want that strong overlap look then we will go with the original plan.

Interesting way to do the frills, I used different materials for the ones on my tail, I ended up sewing the leading edge of each frill to spike, in order to turn it inside out... you must have sewn the horn shapes after inverting it >.> can't do that with fur and thin suede heh. had to hot glue the other edge (but now I know a finishing stitch so I plan to go over each edge if/when the glue fails 8'D)
Yeah I had the same problem with the beltloops too, needed to be MUCH higher to hold the weight up 8'D still sinks after a while, need to reposition every couple hours :( it's the consequence of a fat tail 8'D
I need to retrofit a zipper in it next time I go to FC though, otherwise I can't transport it XD
