The first piece in the second series to feature Talbot Hawthorne, my Black-Tailed Deer OC. I started work on this series almost immediately after finishing my first bit of Talbot art, but I worked on it off and on through May, all the way through June. I wish I had finished it sooner, but I am happy of what I managed to create.
Visually, I tackled unguligrade leg anatomy, pose work and some shading improvements with this series, not to mention the first full-body depictions of Talbot. I'm very happy with how his leg design turned out in this series.
Content-wise, I wanted to hint at more of his demeanor - How he talks, the vibe he gives off, and how that makes the viewer feel. Talbot doesn't mind meeting people in an unfamiliar setting, he thrives in such scenarios.
