Here is a nice, lightweight shop apron I had made from the legs of a couple pairs of jeans I had been given.
They belonged to a man larger than myself and that gave me plenty of material to work with.

I decided to make this since, while I do own a leather apron I don't really use it because it's rather heavy and not very ergonomic.

I'm probably not going to wear this at the forge because it might smolder, so I might make a nice leather one at some point, or apply a special wax/oil coating to this one and make it a bit more fire proof, but I'll probably stick to using this one just around the workbench when I'm using a rotary tool.

The whole thing was mainly constructed from the legs of the pants after I had dismantled them seam by seam.

The neck loop was made from the waist of a pair and the ties were made from pieces of leg.

This is my first ever time making an article of clothing using a treadle operated sewing machine. I didn't have any plans to help me make this, nor do I even know any actual practical methods of making clothing.
