Spitfire was actually one of my earliest attempts at integrating a character from an established franchise on tv into my world, She came in ironically before Beatrice and thus had a lot of development ahead of it all but amounted to a mature version of the Wonderbolts Captain.
Spitfire does not have any specific ability outside Flight... Yeah her wings didn't give that away I know. She is a double Ace flyer in the equestrium aerial division of the Military, which amount to her victories in air to air mortal combat during times of war.
Spitfire's life in this timeline has amounted to a fair number of chances tossed in early life. Unlike Rainbow Dash who wanted any opportunity to be a part of the greats, Spitfire was the child of a Cloudsdale therapist and war hero who attempted time and again to guide her on a more stable lifestyle. After Commiting Arson within a church, brawling several cops after attempting to evade a pursuit and effectively having dragged her family's name through the mud, her divorced parents gave her a single option, military service as a way to pay back her debt to society (This was only thanks to her mother who pulled several strings to force Spitfire into Service or Servatude to Cloudsdale's Noble Arena wherein she would need to engage in mortal combat for a few years living under that same conditions as a prisoner of war). Overall this process of forced Military service would ironically make her more famous than her Mother with several more accolades; a happy marriage with her own High Ace Flyer in her squad and becoming a responsible commander loved by her unit as well as her chain of command. In all a life well lived.
The Items she has on her person is her testament to her faith what people can be: Her Captain's badge is her rank in her unit (The Wonderbolts) which she was an original member back when she was the single High Ace in the Aerial division's history under a Captain Nimbus and would be her drive to be someone her unit could rely on; The Wonderbolt tag is in her opinion the proof that anyone in her unit is an equal in skill and capability and deserves a voice in missions, though assigned squad leaders have final say, she holds their ability to convene and communicate in high regard; Her dog tags are just her reminder of a life she left behind as a rebellious youth, acquired at the beginning of her military career and amended along the way it it her anchor to the woman she has become.
Overall Spitfire is a portrayal of what life can allow for no matter how you attempt to destroy your name in your early life.
