I still hope for some kind of exchange program or maybe Vincent finds an interesting job in Hybrid City.
If my kid had something like Hybrid City available to her I would definitely try to relocate, at least during the high school years. Being the only two hybrids in school has gotta suuuuuuck.

I was thinking this:
The whole crew is around the table in the lunchroom before school.
Cleo asks Kaya, "How was your summer?"
Kai hears a "Hey." behind him.
Kai whirls around, and Near is standing behind him. His tail knocks the chair over, he stands up so fast.
Near pulls him into a kiss.
Zoom out to the entire table, where everyone's mouth is wide open in shock. Kaya, at the other end of the table, is tipped back in her chair, has her arms crossed, a smirk on her face, and her ears wiggling. (we will find out later that Kaya coordinated which school Near should sign up for when her dad got reassigned to Hybrid City.)
The kiss breaks up, and Nate says, "So, good summer?"
