Grief comes in many forms. For Luna, it meant hiding away her past love from the world and trying her best to live day by day with the weight of his death on her shoulders. Now, as she tries to move on, she realizes that she has to confront her biggest regret if she ever wants to love again.
She pulls out the old box of memories and places each piece carefully on the board, telling the story behind each precious item to her closest friends and family. She laughs and she cries with them, but with each piece placed, a piece of her wall comes crumbling down until the very essence of her soul is finally free. Together they help her to remember Anik and all of the love that he gave to her.
Luna (or Selene if you're the special few) lost her love tragically to a hunter several years back. Anik was an animus: a being that could change its forms from human to animal, in this case, a wolf. Their kind had been wiped to near extinction and poor Anik was merely another number. Luna felt like his death was her fault in a lot of ways, so she tried to repress her memories of him, though it would never work. Luna and Anik are from a story that my friend and I are writing. I've been lucky to be able to draw them all as we've been writing and I hope to be able to share their story with you all in the future! Until then, you get snippets of who they are in their drawings.
This piece is actually almost two years old now! Though my style has improved and changed over the years, I still really love this piece <3
Going through my art for the past two years so I apologize in advanced for the spam!
