I'm honestly not sure. My reference image looked like a reconstruction, but I'm not sure if it was based on a specific artifact or was drawing from a bunch of different periods. The sphinx definitely looks reminiscent of those in Mesopotamia, with the hooves and style, so it might very well be Babylonian.
