Hey folks! I was a bit hesitant about posting this here, but since it's a still life..and I spent like 4 days on it, I wanted to show it off XD
The ref for this painting is a photo of an "Asaro Head" which is basically a bust broken down into planes, and two different complexity levels. I'm hoping this sort of thing will train up my painting skills :3

I had to study with that model figure in a head figure class, it was surprisingly useful to better understand the head. After that class I never watched a figure painting the same way again.
It's awesome, I love the sensitive monochromatic colors around the light source. It most definitely shows growth and maturity in your skill, if only the rest of the art scene would go back to being more traditional with human figures that taking the easy route with being abstract right off the bat.
That eye especially looks close to perfection, do you paint in oils as well by any chance? If so, post them here!
