Something I've often wondered is, how different would the exact same image look, done in different ways?
The pencil outline was scanned with my parents' scanner for image 1.
I then shaded the same one with the pencil, and scanned it again for image 2.
Image 3 is how I usually put them onto my computer - pictures on my cell phone, assembled in the GIMP.
Image 4 is just plain solid colors, done in the GIMP.
Image 5 is that image, then shaded.
Image 6 is the image with "textures" - I used the GIMPressionist function to make them.
Image 7 is that 6 shaded. This is the one I already submitted, under "Smile~"
The relative vertical positions very roughly show the relative times to create each.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get colored pencil into here, because the shading for 2 sorta... eliminated that option.
