I've loved and hated environment drawings.
They always looked stunning and the process in creating one is enjoyable but it can also be tedious and really test your patience.
I've been slaving over this piece for literally 8 hours because it first started with only the image of the building but I disliked the stagnant composition so I expanded the image. Then I decided to use a cloud image instead of hand-drawing it just so I can get used to photo-manipulation. I added caravans to direct the viewer's attention to the focal point which is the Lodge/fortress and added a dead bush to cover the large white snow spot and direct attention towards parts of the picture with its branches. After that, I knew something was missing that had to make this image stand on its own so I thought a large dragon skull would do justice. =D

Absolutely stunning work!
My only criticism is that the tips of the branches create an odd tangent with the bottom line of the building, which is unfortunate. ):
But overall, this is just simply breathtaking. I love how the red/yellows of the building really draw your eye. The overall design is just amazing, as well. Very unique and inspiring!

I am an implicit person which may be the reason why people hate editing my essays in Lang. Arts class. :P
Before I couldn't find the problem of why the image wasn't working and then I discovered that everything was being compacted in very little space. :[
The lodge design was created when I saw a picture of the Half-dome in Yosemite. And colors? I just get lucky with them. =]
