For those who are just learning about Bucky and his rather extensive lore, God Old Bucky is NOT an alternate version of Bucky from another dimension, rather he’s just the original Bucky himself, but having managed to live for millions of years and during that time, has managed to achieve both functional immortality due to his biomechanical enhancements and the phenomenal cosmic powers he has mastered. These factors alone are enough to make anyone who meets him easily understand why he is now considered a deity.
God Old Bucky has made it his personal mission to protect the multiverse from evil and destruction, as with his blue glowing eyes, he is able to see the multiple paths of different realities and the possible trajectories they can be heading towards. Whenever he sensed a universe was in peril of heading towards a path that would eventually bring about its destruction, he would intervene, and try to help steer it towards a better path instead.
As a result of doing this for quite some time, he eventually formed the TriBucky after meeting the various members while visiting their respective universes and deeming each of them worthy in helping him in his eternal mission.
While the members of the TriBucky see their leader/founder, God Old Bucky as a being above them all due to his godly status and powers. One of the reasons that God Old formed the TriBucky team in the first place was because despite his awesome power, God Old had long accepted that he alone couldn’t maintain peace throughout the multiverse all by himself, because even with all his power, he was just one entity, and that no one could do all of it alone.
Despite initially seeing them as just as a carefully selected task force to help him in his goal, God Old Bucky would come to view each of them (Cupid Bucky, Santa Bucky, and Ghost Bucky/Boo-ky) as part of his family, and would gladly lay down his life for any of them.
Ultimately, despite being immortal and having come further along than anyone else ever has at achieving lasting peace across all planes of reality, God Old Bucky does acknowledge one day he will cease to be, and once that happens, hopefully, somewhere across the vast expansion of time and space, someone will come into existence, and continue what he started.
