Ranger Wind is from a human version of Equestria, where magic and steampunk technology exists. She, along with Apple Jack, Spitfire, Rainbow Dash, Braeburn, and Shining Armor, where know as "The Rangers". The sought out Outlaws, and brought them to Justice, dead or alive. One particularly nasty group was the Bleeding Eye. They were a Shadowy group and no one knew whom the leader was.

Wind was a thorn in their side, so certain individuals killed her deputy, and took her hostage. They broke her left leg in 5 places, and her right arm in 3. They also took out her right eye. Their leader wasn't happy with this, and killed those responsible. As the Eye never took hostages. She was returned to the Ranger's, but her arm and leg had gangrene, and had to be replaced with prosthetics.

The Eye disappeared after that, and the President, Celestia, disbanded the Rangers.

Wind now lives out her days as the Local Sheriff in Dodge Junction.
