The microphage is a class of tame slime that is present all over the world of Taeryn. They come in a variety of colors and can be domesticated.

-A microphage has a singular eye and a globular, slightly slimy pudgy body. it is able to change its body into basic shapes, but requires a bit of concentration to completely flatten its body or change into complicated forms.

-Microphages can feed on just about any organic material, but is normally drawn to things that are colorful, especially flying bugs such as butterflies. They "hunt" by extending a thin segment of its body (pseudopod) to quickly trap the target, and then engulf it inside of its body through an oral cavity, or directly through its outer layer.

-Microphages can show emotion with their mouth shapes and small sounds it is able to make. They can squeal to show happiness, growl lightly to show fear or anger, or whine to show distress.

-Microphages are extremely social, and love to socialize with other microphages. Because of their pleasant demeanor and small size, they are popular pets for those willing to pay.
