The Divine Beasts 5 - The Divine Serpent (by buckovskiart)
Commissioned from the talented
buckovskiart!
Of all the Divine Beasts, the Serpent seems to be the most aware of her existence as a god. She is the most amused by the way she is seen by mortals. Mortals see the other Beasts manifest and worship where they tread. The Serpent seems to actively seek out those who worship her, where she will manifest in the thick fog of morning or the fallen forest debris, and ask - or demand - tribute.
The Serpent, however, is not without her playful side. She takes delight in taunting the Bull when he rages against the forces of change, while she slides and slithers with the tide of time. She enjoys mental sparring with the Bat, trying to trick him into revealing his secrets. Thus far, she has yet to succeed.
And, more than anything, she enjoys playing her games with mortals. But such games would not amuse the mortals who are the subject of her curiosity. For when the Divine Serpent sets her sights on you, there is nothing you can do to dissuade her from her designs. Whether god or mortal, nothing can dissuade her from her victory. You fall not because of an error you made, but because the Serpent noticed you.
