I went antiquing with my Mom today and we found this gem. I'm no expert, but it looks all original.
The tag says "Console radio, RCA Radiola 62, 1928 "Highboy"
And it's only $165! I really really want it, but have no place to put it. :( Even still, I'm super tempted to get it.
Sorry about the quality, it's from my Mom's cell phone.

out any thing i learn if ther busted tube wear a type gasemask and a a room the ventilation since those tube have some dangerous chemical in them also when working with something that has tube it wise to see if the there a blue print on line because rewiring a tube radio is tricky if your a forget what wire goes to what after undoing them also it going try get it to working again be very careful since some electronics system even one with tube in can care good amount of electricity in them that can shock a person even after there unplugged
True, the large filter capacitors can hold a significant charge, there are enough resistors across them to bleed the charge down when turned off.
The tubes used in this radio are harmless. No mercury vapor or gas filled tubes are used. The only thing inside them is a vacuum :)
The most dangerous part is cutting yourself on the glass if one was broken.
I have the RCA red books service manuals. Though for some reason Vol. 1 isn't where it should be. I need to track that down :(
I hate misplacing stuff...

well i wouldent say the tubes are harmess. the elements contain thoriated tungsten which is slightly radioactive to better cause the emission of electrons durring operation. the silver stuff is not mercury but barium oxide. the idea behind that was to absorb extra oxygen atoms inside the envelopes of the tubes, this barium was expolded useing RF, shorting elements, etc to Activate it and absorb the oxygen once evacuuated of air and sealed
