In my last posting concerning my recent dreams in the FIM universe 
Cheska ask what did I actually look like as pony in the dream state. Well here I am.
My markings seem to be very much like those of the unicorn who I blame for getting me roped into this. Paynes Gray. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/613...../#cid:44633413 Of course I don't look as studly as Paynes does but Petina Pony http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6100949 thinks I'm still cute in that adorkable kind of way.
Although I was initially very disoriented by this new sudden dreamscape I have grown more accustomed with it. Although it can still be odd having an Andur dream and then turning around and having another dream in Ponyville in the span of an evening. Kind of like switching channels on the TV.
The kite fling was actually part of the Ponyville annual Kite Festival which takes place every year over the span of about two days. It is a general holiday and everyone gets it off. In the pastures and fields around Ponyville the air is filled with the sight of brightly colored paper kites and the sound of laughter and singing.
There are competitions for the highest flying kite. The most beautiful kite. The most skillful kite flying, and most unusual or original kite. Pinkie Pie is the regular winner of that one and continued her winning streak this year by some how making a kite out of a frying pan.
The Pegasus ponies are in charge of the judging the various competitions. To make certain that they can clearly see all the contestants kites they make certain that every cloud around Ponyville is moved away. This has a couple added benefits.
One of the benefits of moving all the clouds generally results in a pleasant steady breeze which makes for good kite flying. Second it guarantees a couple days of steady sunshine right as several important crops are ripening. These crops are picked soon after the festival. This extra sunshine usually is responsible in contributing to a good harvest year in and out. With that knowledge I was not surprised to find out from Applejack that it was Princess Celestia who originally proposed the festival.

Yeah it was really mind-boggling to see a cast iron skillet with a streamer style tail attached to it soaring in the morning breeze. When I asked about how this could be the general answer was. "It's Pinkie Pie and we've learned not to ask." Besides there was a general concern that if you bothered Pinkie too much with questions about physics it might cause whatever magic she'd cast on it to fail. Then you'd have a cast iron skillet plunging out of the sky and possibly bonging some poor pony on the head!
Actually that is the mystery. I don't have one. There is a spot on my flank where it appears I had one but it appears to have damaged and I have a blank/ scar on both sides. What confuses Twilight and Charity http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6100666 the Apothecary who has been treating my injuries is that my cutie marks have not yet reappeared which is the norm. Not even Twilight spells to restore them have had any success. Needless to say this has resulted in me becoming an object of more and more attention as case gets kicked up the food chain.
Also the Cutie Mark Crusaders have made me a honorary member in the meantime.

And I love the way Petina is looking at you in upper left. And her cutie mark is a dollar sign?Heh. For some reason I now see Petina and Rarity becoming very good friends. Though poor Rarity might be a bit shocked at some of Petina's racier anecdotes.

Yep she's got a black dollar sign on her little white flanks, and Pinkie Pie has discovered that when you poke her cutie mark it makes an old fashion cash register "Kaching!" sound effect. You're also correct that Petina has made a few ponies blush at her rather "earthy" nature.

Nope, not at this time. Both Petina and i have decided until we have a better idea what is going on that information is on a need to know basis.

Nope, not at this time. Both Petina and i have decided until we have a better idea what is going on that information is on a need to know basis.
Hhheeee! Well yes. At least how they seem to work in my version FIM. The short answer is magic, but that is not very enlightening or satisfy explanation. The best way to describe it is it like have gecko feet or in this case gecko hooves. A magical equivalent of the Van der Waals force http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_der_Waals_force that lets you grab, lift and manipulate objects without have flexible digits to wrap around the object. When you want pick something or hold an object you suddenly find both your hoof an the frog has like super glue/ suction on the bottom of it. When you no longer need to hold the object the spell/ field shuts off and the object fall off your hoof.
Now once again this is not official canon from Hasbro Inc. and don't know what Lauren Faust's opinions on the topic are. Also Petina and I have found there are limitations to what you can do with the hooves. One despite exhibiting some kind of magical Van der Waals like force ponies do not have the ability to walk up walls, although you can go up very steep slopes, like geckos can. Also ponies do not have the same insane levels of contact strength that geckos have. It is skill that becomes habit out lots and lots of practice and becomes second nature over time. This meant when I first showed up I was a clumsy lunk, but this has been written off as being part of the injuries I received when I showed up. Probably a side-effect of having my cutie mark destroyed. Petina seems to have had no probably grasping the concept and taken like a fish to water.

Given what you've described of Petina's personality, her horn is probably just a micrometer away from touching, playing that "I'm not touching you!" game just to watch you squirm.

Oh she is sooooo good at that game! Remember she has been a professional exotic dancer in the past so she knows how to tease with the best of them.
