Lucy - New Hand Testing - Zaren
Lucy looks over her latest creation with approval. A 2-finger Mythos style prosthetic with no thumb seems so absurd, but as she starts to manipulate objects with them, the benefits are becoming clear. With no thumb, there is significantly less mechanical complexity to deal with. The larger fingers are stronger. They can be used like a hook prosthetic would, while still doing many tasks that require a hand. They also look much better than a hook prosthetic.
Checking the power consumption, she is pleased with what she sees. It will be worse than a hook prosthetic, but much better than even a 2-finger + thumb prosthetic. Carefully, she starts to dress herself with these new hands. She dictates her observations to an audio recorder she has setup. Being both the doctor and the patient, this commentary will be important later when she is reviewing the performance data of these prosthetics.
