Karannia! Here's the full version!
This was done mostly in Paint Tool Sai, with rain effects added in photoshop (I couldn't figure out how to do it in Sai - I'm still an amateur, really). based on a passage written by karannia:
How long had it been? The centuries... whiled away and yet still the memories and pain were as fresh as they had been. The searing anger and bitterness at what she could have been and what she could have become circled about as endless as Oroborus, the serpent of legend who constantly swallowed its own tail. The bronze dragoness perched atop the lone cliff, the rocks jagged, cold and the color of rust, old blood and of war standing a silent bastion against the violent sea below, it's waters dyed a deep purple in the setting light as foamy crests roared and battered away against the uncaring cliffs. Wings half furled she gazed into the watery abyss, ignoring the shrill cries of the seabirds seeking a meal, and the inviting golden sand below. Her body still lithe and young by most standards was covered in richly colored bronze scales edged in green hues, a thick satin like armor marred only by vivid white scars, reminders of battles past. The war still there, legs twitching and wings spread as she sprang, and pirouetted, graceful as the seabirds in flight. Claws slashing at invisible enemies, dodging and swaying. A lethal dance taught to her in a land and realm where it was kill or be killed. Each clawtip flexed, razor sharp black as ebony. Those wide wings spread wide as she doged and swept, even the membranes punctured and puckered with holes. The tail ridged and lined with lethal spines sweeping out to trip and wound as she followed. Angry yes.. furious... but a warrior of her people. A bronze dragon... full blood... yes.. cursed by her own kin to become an infiltrator an assassin... shifted to look like the enemy, a humanoid dragon and forever cursed that way. THe dance continued.. her heart hammering, arms stretched high in supplication to an uncaring sky. The glittering lights along her scales... lightning blessed... fingerclaws flashing as she danced on. The blessing and beat the sound of the waves.. the cries of the gulls and the howl of the wind. The darkening clouds, lighting sparks... a dull roar heard yet still she dances on. Feetclaws scraping and slashing.. pleading begging the gods for respite. A hero she was? FAh. a reject,. hated by humans, even her own kind professed no love for her. A useless tool, to be raped and thrown away. And she danced on. Rage coloring her, the frenzied movements slamming her back and forth jerking her until finally with a pent up scream of rage.. she leapt off the cliff. Wings snapping wide, challenging the storm. It's glory, her anger. Fearless she danced attendance. A handmaiden to the lightening. Revelling in the cold stinging slash of the rain against her body, the abusive slash of the wind pressing her to the limits. And so she danced.
