I’m happy that I finally finished this background painting, the water was really difficult to give a satisfying texture.
This action-filled ’book cover’ is my way of pitching a more goofy and less ’believable’ setting than usual. The idea is that I want to have an easy ’story sandbox’ to practice writing in, and I thought that pulp-style short stories (the junk food of fiction) could be a good start. In addition to first-half 20th century tropes, I’m throwing my own spin on it by having snazzily dressed feral-furries dealing with bizarre things inspired by SCP (and other modern weird fiction). I have two character casts dealing with different scenarios: The Hopping Trio who have adventures in the wild, and the Dynamic Circus who solves mysteries in urban settings.
