The animals weren't sure who was putting on who anymore. The Goose would always meet Templeton by the trough when he went for his 'first dibs' on Wilbur's meals, always goading him to eat more than he ought, and he'd waddle away miserably distended to his hiding place in the barn. As this continued, though, the Goose herself would often partake if there were any vegetables to consume. She would often leave the nest to do a little grazing in the grass, sneaking away to consume of the lawn. Sometimes, late at night, there'd be the sound of feathers ruffling as she flew off somewhere, and she'd return some time later without a peep, albeit hauling herself back into the nest. Both rat and goose looked increasingly round and bloated, and they'd often doze side-by-side after a feast.
