That strange Mew statue strikes again!
After a clumsy Archen—who just so happens to have a crush on a certain fire lizard (currently away on a mission)—accidentally activates the artifact, Cress finds himself shrunken even smaller than before!
Dodging the unaware steps of said Archen was bad enough… but now he’ll have to rely on his smug, infuriating rival for help.
Unfortunately for Cress, this Toxtricity doesn’t offer his services for free.

The below story was written by me.
It was bright and early in the morning, and a certain familiar Totodile was already seated at his desk, diligently examining a pile of relics and artifacts littered across the room he shared with his Charmander partner.
“Hmm…” Cress muttered as he rotated the dull blue crystal in his hands. He grabbed a small brush and cleaned off the dark gunk that was covering the relic, revealing a particular water drop symbol inside the middle of it. “Huh… it looks like the expedition team brought me back an interesting item… I’m certain this is a Waterium-Z… not that anyone here would even know how to use it.”
Thinking of a different particular gem, the Totodile glanced up at a shelf high on the wall. The Mew figure. Cress shuddered a bit.
Cress’s eyes narrowed a bit. “You behave up there… no more shrinking shenanigans. Last thing I need is—”
Suddenly, the door to the room creaked—
“Good morning, Cress!” a cheery voice rang out as it swung open.
Vera. An Archen who just happened to be one of the guild’s best explorers. She trotted into the room with a hopeful smile, her purple neckerchief fluttering as her head darted around. Cress and Firrin had gone on a number of missions with her. She was quite skilled in exploration, but—
“Uhh, where’s Firrin?” she asked in confusion.
Cress didn’t even look up from the Waterium-Z in his hand as he examined it further. “He got called to be a part of a makeshift team for an urgent mission. He isn’t here right now.”
“Aww…” Vera’s wings dropped slightly. “I was hoping we could all have breakfast together. I wanted to hear more of his ‘Charizard Wisdom’.”
Cress stopped for a moment and smirked. “Right. Charizard Wisdom.”
“Who does he learn all of this wisdom from, I wonder?” Vera said pensively, a wing tapping at her beak. “It’s almost like he’s…” Her cheeks flushed slightly as her voice trailed off.
The Totodile simply pulled another relic closer, chuckling softly to himself. If you only knew.
Vera shook her head and watched for a moment as Cress examined the relic in hand with his magnifier. “Are these from the Ashroot Caverns expedition? They really hit the jackpot this time!”
Cress paused and looked up at her, then gave a small nod. “Yeah, they really outdid themselves this time. Since Firrin was called away early this morning, I decided to just go ahead and start cataloging these.”
“Making any progress?”
Cress nodded again, brushing some dust off another gemstone. “A good bit. Some of it is broken junk like cracked tools, cheap mass manufactured decorative objects, and such. But I’ve found some interesting relics as well—“
Vera’s eyes sparkled as they landed on a nearby pile of precious metals and gemstones that Cress had already appraised.
“Uhh, well,” a wing rubbed the side of her head as she turned to leave, “I’ll let you get back to your work, Cre—“
WHAM!
Her rocky beak smashed directly into the door frame, sending her tumbling over backward onto tail feathers. A number of relics toppled over from the impact in all directions, yet one object in particular caught Cress’s attention.
The Mew statue.
It was falling.
Cress sprang from his desk, diving toward it before the ancient artifact could shatter and become dust on the floor.
“T-Too close,” the Totodile sighed, standing back up and dusting off his red bowtie.
Vera was still clutching her rocky beak. “Oww, oww, oww… that smarts…”
Cress carefully placed the relic on his desk. “Are you ok, Vera? You should really watch where—“
Before he could finish, the eyes of the Mew statue glowed an ominous purple.
For a moment, he froze. And then, his surroundings surged upwards around him, stretching and growing as his stomach twisted in knots. His desk was unrecognizable, towering over him like it belonged to a deity.
“W-Why?! How did it even activate this time?!” Cress shouted in frustration, his now tiny foot stomping the wooden plain beneath him with an adorably useless inaudible slap.
“Ughh!” Vera groaned as she rubbed her face, pushing herself back up to her feet.
Cress spun around at the noise, only to freeze in fear mid-turn as a stark realization hit him.
“The hell?!”
Vera was massive.
He couldn’t even see over her toes as her form stretched impossibly high, almost disappearing into the sky.
“HOW AM I EVEN SMALLER THAN BEFORE!” the water-type screamed, clutching the sides of his head in disbelief.
“I’m really sorry, Cre—” Vera twisted around, stopping short when she noticed the Totodile was nowhere to be found.
“Cr-Cress?”
Vera stepped further into the room, each footfall unleashing a catastrophic earthquake for the tiny Pokémon below.
“V-VERA! STOP! I’M DOWN HERE!!!”
THOOM.
Cress ducked instinctively, clutching his head as a massive foot came crashing down on top of him. He tumbled around helplessly across the wooden floor from the heavy impact… and by some miracle, found himself between two of Vera’s gargantuan toes.
The tiny Totodile gazed upwards at the feathered god towering above him, his lip quivering before he scrambled forward, desperately trying to climb one of the mountainous toes before him.
“I—I swear some trickster Mew cursed that stupid thing!” Cress muttered through clenched teeth as he clung onto Vera’s toe not wanting to be turned into toe jelly.
Vera scanned the room, oblivious, then stepped into the hallway.
“Where did he go?” she murmured, glancing up and down the corridor.
Cress continued to desperately cling onto the massive toe as Vera trotted down the hallway, stopping at the next room down.
“Hey, Riff?” she called, poking her head into the smug Toxtricity’s room. “Did Cress pass by here?”
Riff was lounging on his bed, casually flipping a page in his book as she asked.
“Heh. Why are you looking for that nerd?” he replied with a cocky chuckle. “I figured you’d be searching for that Charizard wannabe.”
“Wh-Wh—?!” Vera squeaked, flustered. She stepped back too quickly, lost her balance, and tumbled backward causing her talons to kick into the air.
The sudden motion launched Cress like a Seed Bomb attack, sending him sailing through the air before smacking into the soft sheets of Riff’s bed.
He bounced once, landing squarely in front of a massive purple and blue foot which loomed above him.
“N-Nevermind!” Vera yelped, already sprinting down the hall in total embarrassment.
“No wait! Vera!” Cress squeaked trying to get her attention. “Don’t leave…”
Riff snorted.
“Heh heh… knew it.”
He turned the page and went right back to reading, completely unbothered.
Cress slowly turned his head toward the massive sole and shook his head in disgust.
“Sigh…I can’t believe I have to get his help of all people…”
After about a half hour, Cress found himself high up on Riff’s blue scaly sole, hoisting himself upward past scale after scale in a desperate attempt to get that smug electric lizard’s attention.
The last time he was on this sole was when he got smushed beneath it after… No.
He didn’t want to recall such an awful memory.
It was… truly embarrassing.
Scales, wrinkles, mysterious grime of questionable origin—the Totodile grit his teeth and pushed onward, scrambling past it all until he finally found himself climbing in between the Toxtricity’s massive toes. He paused for a moment, glaring up at the scaly canyon walls around him, then glanced toward the Toxtricity, who was still buried in whatever book he was reading.
Cress took a deep breath to shout …ugh. That was a horrible mistake as he gagged.
“Riff!” the water-type reluctantly screamed, cupping both hands in front of his mouth.
Riff blinked, looking up from his book. He scanned the room, confused where that squeaky voice came from.
“I’m in between your toes!”
The electric poison lizard’s eyes finally darted to his toes.
Riff’s lips curled in amusement as he spotted the speck-sized Totodile between his toes.
“Well, well, well...” Riff said with a smug grin. “What’s the guild’s little archeologist doing down there? Looking for some lost artifacts between my toes?”
“Very funny, Riff!” Cress shouted, exasperated. “I had another run-in with that stupid Mew statue! Please, you have to help me!”
Riff chuckled. “I’ll consider it… as long as you do a favor for me.”
Cress glanced up to see his toes wiggling above.
“Y-You’ve got to be kidding me!” the Totodile shouted with a blush of frustration and embarrassment rising on his face.
“It’s your choice,” Riff added, looking more smug than ever. “It’s a long way to the Guildmaster’s office at your size.”
