Travesti is a Spanish word with a couple of different meanings. 1. drag queen or crossdresser, 2. a trans woman/transfeminine person and 3. a non-binary gender identity.
Travesti is used interchangeably between those 3 groups of people in Latin countries, and some travestis identify with more than one definition. Some people in the LGBT+ community argue "travesti" is what trans women with no access to hormones or passing are, saying it's a class distinction more than anything, and that "trans" is a sanitized label for those who can pass as cis.
Some people use the letters LGBTTTI to represent trans, transsexual and travesti people.
I'm not here to give you an opinion, as I'm not travesti. Just wanted to share some discourse happening in a different side of the queer community.
