Old walls

Remains of the Frankfurt city fortrifications that where demolished by the french occupation force during the napoleonic wars about 200 years ago. This was one of the bastions that was surrounded by the moat. It was discoverd when the building above was build last year.

No, why should that destroy it? It is of archeological importance and its on the area of a public park.

good, its always good to see history being preserved. i hate with people just go and destroy something cause it's "Old"

Yeah, well, it was well known that here was the city wall, I meatn it have been demolished just about 200 years ago and the documents about the demolition (order by the french military city commander, bill of costs etc.) still exist in the city archives, but it was a surprise that here was such a large chunk of wall left intact.
