THIS POST IS OUTDATED! My computer is now usable, and my files have since been archived, as you can probably guess from future uploads. Turns out Windows just corrupted, and not the files themselves— I transferred them to a new hard drive safely! As such, my animations will continue until they’re 100% done.

I’m keeping this post in scraps for archival purposes.

Sooo non-0 chance my computer might be fucking dead, it randomly crashed out last night while working on an animation and now it tells me the boot drive is missing.

My computer won’t boot because the hard drive might have corrupted, and that can mean the two full-length animations I’ve been working on (along all other animation source files) might have been lost along with them.

I’m not gonna lose my hope just yet; I’m gonna try to workshop the issues with the guidance of friends and family, to see if I can at least salvage the data on the hard drive. If I can at least recover my blender files, I’ll be happy. If it’s lost, I’m probably gonna scrap these animations—I’ll upload their “final” versions when I can.

For now, this is a hiatus, for at least animations, until further notice. Even if the data can be salvaged, which I won’t throw away the idea, I’ll still need to get a new computer all the same (but to be fair I needed a new one anyway haha).

What doesn’t help is that I’m going to be going away for a week, and I intended to get a smaller animation out before I left. Fat chance of that happening now.

At the literal bare minimum, my doodle schedule will pick back up, and I will make an effort to update you folks on my ongoing situation through journals until I can return in full.
