Before the game Wild Assault came out, it was rare (and I mean very rare) for me to see anthro skunks. And when I started playing it, I was like: Okay, they exist. But the skunk character of Marquez really grew on me. A skunk is such a clever pick for toxic warfare, combined with her slightly spiteful attitude. I'm happy to see more of these fellas. And, again: I have to say that I really like 'em now.
The choice of clothing for Anduriel's character is fashionable. Especially the top gear with the open jacket and the black, labeled shirt looks youthful. Combined with the hairstyle, white and black hair/fur colors gives (at least for me) a bit of a daring attitude, even though the facial expression is more calm and relaxed. But then we have the title "Off the beaten path" which further emphasizes the impression of a carefree daredevil.
I expressed my love for characters which melt with their surrounding a couple of times on Fur Affinity already. But I would like to praise this aspect of your craft once again: Just seeing the figure seeking stability by holding onto a branch is enough to make me smile. And as if that weren't enough, there is another credible physical contact with the sloping soil under the character's paws, further highlighted by dust and pebbles stirred up. A clever way to showcase how isolated and impassable the route is. Really nice job!
Finally, a praise for the environment. I got a soft heart for colorful forest, and I think you nailed that with these autumnal colors, the use of lights shining through the treetops and how the forest casts its shadows. I also really like when the environment is so close to the front that it can only be seen as a blur, just like some of the environment elements do in the background. The only thing I have a mixed feeling about the whole picture is that the wonderful nature is blocking a bit of the character's tail. I mean: How often do we see a lovely skunk in its full glory? I would say, not often enough. But hey: I guess we can't have everything.
Wonderful piece of art!
