A fellow writer directed me towards
poetigress 's Thursday Prompt exercise when he found out about my chronic Writers Block. so i decided to give this week's a try while i was in Tennessee, and i have to admit i'm actually REALLY proud of this work. unfortunately i don't have a working copy of MS Word on my computer, so i have to type it ALL in Notepad, so... no spellcheck, and i'm dyslexic so... yeah... expect a few.

There is a lot of spelling and grammar errors, But I do that a lot too... I liked that he went crazy or thought he went crazy and got stuck there. ^.^ like when stuff like that happens. Very tame too which is a good change of pace but I tend to like stuff that is fast paced and gore-y. But for a short story I thought it was very well done and a good start to do a continuation :)
yeah... my computer is a POS and dosn't support WORD... so i have to use Notepad++, which dosn't support spellcheck. and i have Dyslexia so... yeah...
the prompt was "THE ROOM" and i originally had the classic bare-light-bulb torture/interrogation scene or something a bit SAW 1-like... but i figured it was time for a change. (most of my stories are violent and gore-y) so instead i decided to make it a VR room. i figured that his obsession for this woman and extensive time in a VR sim, would eventually cause him to loose his grip on reality. a situation i've been wanting to write for a while. so i decided to take that route. his mind, which was so accustomed to the virtual surroundings, made them real in his subconscious mind. and when he tried to talk to the computer, his mind cause his surroundings to react how they would in a normal world. rather than in the VR setting he was used to. so he seams crazy in the VR world his mind had created, making him ALSO crazy in the real world. he PHYSICALLY didn't get stuck in the VR world, but mentally he never left. i'm also VERY bad at writing stuff like yiff and such, so you probably won't see one of those in my gallery. so, apart from blood, gore, violence, and cursing, all my stories are technically tame.
if you look closely/know my mate and i... there's 2 nods to the two of us in the story. each only about 1 sentence. see if you can find it!

See stuck like that the mind getting use to the vr settings and having the world react is fun stuff to mess with because it can take you on a mind trip because of how the brain works. I love psychology because it allows you to "mess" with minds.
Yiff stuff I dont read just dont really see the point, I have read some , maybe its that I havent found a writter that writes that that I like enough its all very.. slow and blah...
I dont really know you though you and I just chat here and there about stuff.so I probably wont find it, and Ive never even spoken with your mate....

i like the concept of going insane that way, getting mentally stuck in the VR, because, it could possibly HAPPEN if such VR's existed. and i like that semi-realism.
i don't really read yiff, because i'd rather just get it myself, but it can be fun if written right. though i don't know of many writers to look at for that sort of thing. writers in general get under-appreciated here on FA.
as for the nods to my mate and I... you really only need to know our 'sonas to get the nods... i'm an Arctic Fox (i'm 6'4" so i'm quite tall) and he's an Otter (he's also shorter than me)

i'd describe this as creepy rather than horror. but that's the idea that hit me when i read the prompt. also one of the possible dangers of actual VR. it becomes harder and harder to leave. and you end up wanting to make it your own reality so much you start to believe it is. and the human mind is a powerful thing. you believe something hard enough and it actually happens. (in the case of disease and such) or you mind makes you think it happens (delusions)
