Astra is actually originally a concept for something connected to my dnd character/campaign. Since my DM wouldn't compromise on him being a dude, I made him in design to be the opposite in colour palette and personality to said character. Hence his more effeminate design.

Astra, very unusually has the ability to manipulate basic functionality of biology, the power to actively adjust functions within the body of any creature he can see, and more so touch. This ability can help to slow blood flow, assist with ruptured organs and even prevent subconscious physical reactions, This power allows him to save lives that would otherwise be well outside the call of survival... Or kill almost any creature that decides to stand within arms length to threaten him.

The life Astra has lived is a troubling tale that begins with the devouring of his own siblings when his nest was abandoned by his parents. It was a slow process that involved weeks of cannibalisms wherein he had nothing else to eat and his litter being well hidden within a large Woodline almost permanently shrouded in stars. The slow painful process began a slow descent into paranoia and introverted isolation, Astra being the gorgeous creature he is would meet Raven, who showed him that he had far more potential than being a paranoid terror and eventually would be introduced to his, "Kitty Kat" Void, and later the kitten that would change his life all over again, Fialova.

The items Astra never let's go of are symbols of the empathy shown to him throughout his life: The star flake is a show of his heritage, the power flowing through his veins allows his iris' to evolve into new shapes as he grows, often they can be read by fellow Cosmic owls to show the story of the individual in question; Kenny was a gift from Raven, the power of Kenny is shown through it's protective nature, the very active and emotional Skull often pecks anyone that makes physical contact with Astra for more than a few seconds, his love of the bird being his vow to Raven to defend the young cosmic owl; Nova blooms are an incredably rare form of chrysanthemum that Void gave to Astra as a gift for his birthday, and though plentiful can only be accessed on surfaces affected by fusion energy, As such Void refuses to claim the location of these beautiful and mesmerizing flowers

Though Astra began in the form of a dnd character I love how the bird found his place in my world, Void making it easier for the bird to adjust to our world's norms... Nah Raven just introduced them and Astra found purpose in his soon to be family's livelihood, Astra working as a nurse to fulfill his dream to help people.
