...As I type this I realize there are literally no representations of Disassociative Identity Disorder in fiction that don't involve an "evil killer/rampaging monster" personality, are there?

I don't know what kind of kindergarten you went to, but...I don't remember metal pipes being aloud in mine. Heck, I got in trouble one for recklessly waving around a toy plastic lightsaber (the cheap kind that doesn't light up) in highschool.

(I DID get sent to the principle's office literally every day for aggressive temper tantrums though...where I would around said principle's office furniture into a fort.)

It's not about what's allowed, it's about what they can get up to in the split-seconds where the adults aren't lookin'.

My non-verbal Autistic younger brother EXCELLS at that. Turn your head for one second and he's three blocks away inside a stranger's house raiding their freezer for icecream. He's 26 and lives in a group home for adults with special needs.

My one sibling is no longer as prone to that as they used to be...but yes, very much so.
