The very first piece of a loose project to make Arcana cards (from Tarot) of Karel. The very first one (and also unumbered) is The Fool (Le Fol, Le Mat in french), which is sort of the beginning of the journey.

This depicts a younger Karel biking mostly handsfree and always carefree through the city, listening to music the 2011 way while peeking at pretty things around him. This is a real life anecdote: the rest of the scene is me crashing headfirst on a car trunk, causing head trauma. No injuries, but it caused memory loss for the next 3 weeks, and an unecessary bill to my name. So before you look at people on the streets, make sure there's nothing in front of you to stop your race!

Von Boche's style is unique, reminiscent of video games like Jet Set Radio, The World Ends with You... His (nsfw) stories are either hilarious or cute, and he's got a special knack at representing youth. The Fool's got the youth and the simpleness, so I felt like he was the right pick.
Big props to him for the whole environment, depicting a regular district of Nantes.

PS: I still bike a lot... and still without a helmet!
