Amongst the plethora of new human and Itrean marriages is Mizu, Li’lo, and Jenta, but who are they and what purpose do they play in the Galactic spectrum of human and Itrean relations?
Mizu, along with his brother Chuang, was born on the colony of Batrice, one of the most powerful colonies established in the early days of the Gabatrix Era, when the need to create a growing intergalactic economy for humanity was more paramount than ever. Batrice is the embodiment of multiple former nations of forgotten Earth, including Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and essentially the other Southeast Asian nations. Batrice remains an important establishment for the UWA, serving as a powerhouse of mining corporations, job opportunities, military infrastructure, mineral wealth, and shipyard production for the human race.
However, Batrice is struggling with its past, including the rise of 24th-century Neo-Communism, fueled by Batrice’s prior Socialist Parties, along with the resources of the Martian Communist Party (the remnants of the Chinese Communist Party of former Earth). This has led to the silent rise of a Neo Khmer Rouge movement in Batrice. The situation with Batrice became a boiling point with the UWA when they signed the Partnership Treaty with the Itrean T’rintar clan in 2349. In the promise of protection against the other Itrean clans, Batrice and its neighboring colony of Gillan were required to give mineral resources to the T’rintar clan in hopes of building more warships. This was made with little consent of the Batrice government, resulting in economic strain for all of Batrice.
No doubt, resentment towards the Itreans in the colony is at an all-time high. Prior space attacks by the other clans on Batrice, along with the treaty, have resulted in open discrimination towards any Itreans, ally or not. Itrean settlers on Batrice, along with Batricians who take in Itrean wives, are often met with skepticism, hatred, and aggression by other Batricians. This is not to say that Batricians didn’t take in Itrean wives, as the entire Itrean race consists of women due to the advent of Zilik’s Disease. Regardless, since the treaty, human Itrean couples are among the lowest in all of the UWA.
Mizu’s brother would tragically die in the line of duty in the UHN Marine Corps. Mizu, himself, would continue on as a pilot for the UHN and serve under Fort Batrice, the most powerful battlestation ever constructed by humanity. However, in 2350, an explosion rocked Fort Batrice when the T’rintar clan Ambassador arrived in her shuttlecraft. Both Li’lo and Jenta were initially accused of engaging in the bomb plot to assassinate Ambassador Ifra and Ambassador Kane. It is now speculated that members of Batrice were responsible for initiating the bomb plot in hopes of destabilizing relations between Batrice, the UWA, and the T’rintar clan. With Mizu, he would slowly recognize the attempted plot to frame Li’lo and Jenta. Due to the open hostility between Batrice and the T’rintar clan, Mizu would break the two Itrean members out of confinement and make a daring escape from Fort Batrice, saving the two Itreans from the mock trial that would initially find them guilty. The end result of the situation is that tensions between the UWA and Batrice have deteriorated, with Batrice ending all quota shipments to the T’rintar clan and expelling all Itreans and human/Itrean couples from Batrice entirely.
Li’lo is a typical Yutilian, a beloved friend of Ambassador Ifra. In Getrean and New Atrean societies, aides to the Ambassador, or any other high position, are often looked at as an honorable profession. They are treated as squires, where they continue to learn about law, administrative knowledge, and hone their expertise, essentially becoming an extension to the Ambassadors themselves. When the Ambassador ultimately retires or passes away, the fellow aides are in a position to take their place under careful consideration by royal decree. Li’lo’s ability in law would be seen in full effect when sent to defend Shira after the Shal’rein Lesser Adjunct defected to the UWA. However, much of her career is currently on hold as she sought out Mizu to become his mate.
Jenta is a Fo’mil Yutilian, another aide to Ambassador Ifra and closest friend to Li’lo. The Fo’mil belong to one of the oldest religions within Itrean society, where the people refused to embrace any form of induced artificial evolution that ever slowly shaped the Itrean clan species to what they look like today. Jenta is among the billions of trillions who still retain much of the original Velociraptor features of the former Earth, carrying more feathers, lacking breasts, and laying eggs instead of giving birth to live young. Jenta is known to be more shy than Li’lo, but considers her a “Tren,” the Itrean definition of “Sister in all but blood.” Much as Li’lo desired, it was Jenta’s deepest wish to become a mate with Mizu as well.
The concept of polygamous mateships in the Itrean society has been generally outlawed for well over 50,000 years. However, due to Zilik’s Disease, the T’rintar clan have all but allowed it. If anything, with the countless trillions of Itrean women, it’s being encouraged for human men to take up more than one wife in hopes of producing offspring immune to the disease. Mizu was happy to accept Li’lo and Jenta’s offer, knowing the romantic bond established in their harrowing journey to escape to Earth together. No doubt, Mizu is among the many men who are becoming part of a new, growing trend of marriages where one man will have multiple wives, often providing numerous benefits and challenges to men while humanity progresses further with the alliance between both cultures…..

Well, Gabatrix still has sex in it. The only difference is that I tend to focus more on the story rather than necessarily the sex (Somebody said it best that a story formula should be 90% story, 10% love scene). For example, some stories may have only one love scene, while other books might have more than one, depending on what is happening in the story and the characters' personalities. I would absolutely love to see Gabatrix be made into a TV show or animated show (as long as I'm part of that process and not letting Hollywood taking a few parts of the story, altering everything else, and tossing the entire book away, like they've been doing with alot of other book series they get ahold of). I'm at least happy that the books are being made into audiobooks, because it is a step in the right direction. Even some of the mechanics of the Itrean clans/UHN are designed to be balanced and counterbalanced for something like a strategy video game. If they can successfully make shows and even an upcoming video game of something like The Expanse, then Gabatrix should get that chance as well. It's fun to write the stories, and I'm doing what I can to keep the process going while I still can. Thank you for the kind comment. :)
