A photo from the Severn Valley Railway for the railwayfurs amongst you. Here we see GWR Large Prairie Tank 5164 heading towards Bewdley with an afternoon train from Bridgnorth. I was a little way south of Northwood Halt, and the photo was taken at 15.57; the train was due into Bewdley at 15.51, so it's running about 10 minutes late.

*Grins* I still can't heeeearrr youuuu! But of course, thank you very much! I obviously don't want to post hundreds of train pics on FA, but I hope there'll be more in due course. The vantage point I used is quite a way from the line, but it's up a hill so you get an excellent view. =:)
*Grins* The motion blur is a happy accident -- neither I nor my camera are up to taking pro-standard arty photos! And yes, it's a 2-6-2T, one of these.
The Great Western Railway was not only called God's Wonderful Railway but also Great Way Round. I am a great GWR fan. The locomotives are a far more modest size than London Midland & Scottish railway or London North Eastern Railway locos & far more modern looking than Southern Railway's locomotives. They have charming & purposeful looks. They're quite simply beautiful machines created by inspired & talented designers
I live within walking distance of the SVR, so being a GWR fan is practically compulsory for me! =:P Mind you, the SVR was originally part of the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway, known for a while as the "Old Worse and Worse" thanks to a varied collection of problems -- so I think I can cope with "Great Way Round"... =:D
And thanks for your comment, too. It's reminded me that it's been far too long since I've uploaded any railway pictures to my account. I shall do something about that!
