The warm sand packed under Dawn's paws with every step as she dashed eagerly toward the ocean. Her favorite cobalt dress with the delicate silver trims caught the last rays of sunset, sparkling subtly against the indigo sky that was now dappled with patches of red, orange, and yellow.
Her tail flowed with just as much grace as the dress itself, waving behind her like a banner, announcing the freedom and joy of the moment for all to see. It complimented her smile well. Another symbol of the pure innocent fun -- the ultimate summer destination for a girl who loves water.
The dress, simple yet elegant, fluttered behind her with every movement. A playful tease -- drawing attention exactly where you know you shouldn't look, even when there was nothing explicit to see. Just enough of a peek at the curve of her hip to act as a reminder of the woman beneath the fabric.
Dawn's gaze was fixed out at the vast horizon before her -- the dance of brilliant colors that erupted where the sea kissed the sky. The the cinematic colors of evening sunset in the distance promised endless possibilities and a new tomorrow on Dawn's gradual journey of self acceptance.
She felt lighter than the sea breeze itself as she dashed toward the shoreline.
This was her time. A moment, stolen from the demands of motherhood and the weight of responsibilities. Here, on the edge of the world, she was simply Dawn -- alive, vibrant, free.
The tide swelled to meet her, kissing her paws between strides. It was cool, yet inviting, as though the sea itself was calling her in. The siren's song of the waves breaking in the distance enthralled her. Had she not been in her good dress, she'd have considered answering. But here, tonight, on (mostly) dry land. The sunset painted the perfect backdrop for her spirit to awaken.
This shore was hers to run. And the farther and faster she did, the more she would be reminded of the girls he used to be. And the more excited she would get, at the promise of the woman she was still becoming.
Because who doesn't love a long romantic "walk" on the beach?
I hope this one conveyed the vibe I was trying to go for. Felt a bit more disjointed than normal (totally wasn't watching Pokemon reruns while writing this).
Another cameo of Dawn's favorite dress. Take a look at the other pieces it's appeared in:
