"That's how we know I'm the good guy!"
I re-watched all of Friendship is Magic recently and finally shared it with my fiance. I also delved back into the hilarity that is Friendship is Witchcraft as a result. I decided to make a joke art piece based around a line that evil Twilight Sparkle says in one of the parody episodes for a sticker of Rive since Rive was initially based off of her. The early version of Rive has always been inspired by the Friendship is Witchcraft version of Twilight Sparkle. If you look at her behavior, abilities, and her amulet I feel it's pretty obvious lol! "I wonder how her letters to her mentor would go."
I don't want to imagine! XD
It'll be like that grimdark fic where she sends Princess Celestia letters from beyond the grave but the roles reversed.
She'd probably taunt her mentor with magical letters about her evil progress long after she had killed him.
He probably got them in the Shimmering Ponds quite often and just couldn't do anything about it.

"Dear Greyscale The Wise,
Or should I say Greyscale The Unwise? Because I still can't believe you didn't get the hint! How's your stay in purgatory? Or hell for that matter? Or are you just roaming Lutumire aimlessly? Whatever, don't care where I sent you just as long as I can still write to you.
Today I learned how to cook a yeildling using crushed up snail as glaze! While I prefer to devour my enemies by swallowing them up whole (assisted by the magic you've taught me) while conquering their villages, I've found roasted yeildling is a wonderful delicacy for me and my loyal elite followers at formal parties! I've also accidentially had a new breakthrough while coming up with the recipe, I discovered that the screams and cries of it's mother increases the potency of rage and hate-based magical potions, which are now being deployed in the field as a form of strategic thermobaric explosive device, it's genius!
You have taught me so well and I am grateful for your lessons! I have become so powerful that not even you and your coven of great wizards could stop me!
Your overachieving graduated student, Rive"

Holy fuck that's brutal, but fitting for such a comically over-exaggerated villain. I can absolutely see her writing like this, giddy and demented.
Poor Greyscale having to read her atrocities and not being able to do anything about it. He should have seen the red flags when she said that "death wasn't fair" and that he should "teach her how to bring others back to life" instead of wrapping up the lesson and dismissing her comment because he didn't want to give up on a student.
