While raiding a house with his superpowered boyfriend Dodger, Sylvan Slate found a trunk containing the wardrobe of a former magician who had used teleportation as part of his act. Touching the top hat and magic wand imbued Sylvan with those same powers. Taking up the name Flicker, he and Dodger work as master thieves within Evergreen City. After being hired for a job by Thalamus, Sylvan was given a deceptively high-tech stun baton that he uses to give the heroes further trouble.
