Red Line is having a drink and wants go for a cruise, but he realizes he is being followed, so he uses driving skills to shake them off.
This is my first time writing a car chase story. If I don't try it, I'll never be good at it.
Red Line belongs to me.
Chomper and Cactus belong to PopCap.
The story itself if not interested in downloading it:
In an urban part of Suburbia, the zombie is coming out of the grocery store and starting to drink energy beer.
His name is Matthew Skewer, mostly known as Red Line, who wears a black racing suit with two red stripes on it. He also wears his black baseball cap with red elements made of different fabric with holes in it, which covers his bald head and has a straight blonde mustache.
”That was great, as usual”
Red Line is heading toward his black 1969 Shelby GT500, which he dubs as „Decimator”. He opens the trunk of his car to put the empty can in it as he finished his drink, because he stores them to either extend his collection of cans or save enough of them to get a considerable deposit.
As he closes the trunk of his car, he spots a purple 1969 Plymouth Road Runner with the slanted spikes on the roof, elliptical, brighter purple spots randomly stuck in and a green cross intersecting at the center of the door.
Red Line brushes off the characteristic vehicle and starts driving his way. However, the purple car soon drives toward him. It appears to be driven by a chomper with two vines symmetrically coming out of the middle of his body, which grasp the steering wheel. He wears glasses enhanced by Wall-Knight tech, which allows him to see the environment due to lack of eyes typical to his species. Passenger of the car is a generic cactus who watches the road with intention to focus on a specific vehicle.
The zombie catches a glimpse of a muscle car behind him in a rear-view mirror and ignores it once again. After a few minutes of cruising, he checks the mirror again, and then realizes someone is onto him, so he changes his usual route to fool his pursuers and succeeds at temporarily eluding them.
The chomper and the cactus begin searching for a black classic car after having lost sight of it. They are looking around in order to find Red Line again. Meanwhile the Shelby driver resumes his cruise on an altered route and decides to head back home.
Unfortunately for him, the hitmen recognized his car when the cactus pointed at it and got back on Red Line’s tail, which annoys him, but he continues driving until he stops behind the traffic light, which is currently red. Trying to hold his nerves together, he waits for it to switch to green.
Right after the traffic lights turn to the previously mentioned color, the zombie floors the gas pedal causing the chase to begin as the pursuers follow through. Red Line makes a hard left turn hoping that cars driving straight would slow down his tail. However the chomper remembered the way, so the pursuit ensues. In one of the intersections, while the chased goes through clearly, the chasers hit the fender of the black 1968 Dodge Charger and cause the drivers of it to get shocked. The zombie missed the right corner costing him his distance from his pursuers by correcting his mistake. The cactus makes a limb gesture towards the chomper, which suggests they don’t like that their target is getting away and the latter part nods along while keeping his artificial sight on the road ahead and focuses on driving. The chase extends to Zombopolis, but before entering it, they take a left turn intercepting the properly driving vehicle, causing their operator to use a horn.
In the aforementioned city Red Line weaves through heavy traffic, adding stress to his brain, knowing his fear of narrow places behind the wheel. His pursuers also struggle with that until they both leave the city, the speed picks up as the density of traffic goes down, and the last turn, they head out to undeveloped area with a long road, surrounded by small trees, with a hill, which can be seen from the distance.
The face-off goes on when Red Line almost dodges an oncoming car making it to swerve off uncontrollably and causing the pursuing duo to spin out. Looking at the mirror, the sole driver of a Shelby sighs in relief, but it was short-lived as the Plymouth crew catches up quickly making him glare. In spite of that he gets scared as he approaches another traffic pile and avoids it from the right hitting the guardrail, while the chasers get through it flawlessly, then end up ramming their target from behind and the cactus prepares herself for eventual fire.
In that moment Red Line snapped, so he decides to slightly slow down and ends up being overtaken. The passenger notices that and positions herself towards the zombie, but she stumbles as he nudges the car she is in from the left side. The chomper distressed by being attacked by his target as he takes a glance it. Cactus then opens the rear window and peeks her head out making the zombie driver slow down to avoid being shot directly, but the shooter starts firing spikes at his car from her mouth. Red Line tries to retain control, however he gets startled as the spike damages the front windshield, but another shot at the window shatters it making the zombie steer right ramming the attacker’s car as hard as possible, making the chomper lose control over his car as it veers off the road and crashes into a lamp post possibly killing them. The zombie stops his car and gets out of it temporarily to watch the crashed vehicle from afar.
”Morons.”
He mutters to himself before driving off with broken windshield.
