And now, as they say, for something completely different. In a couple of days, it'll be the anniversary of the day in 1985 when the idea was conceived that would eventually become The Space Gypsy Adventures - which, as you're probably aware, was one of the foremost inspirations behind SPCM. As always, I'll be paying homage to this series by posting a bit of fanart, but with this year being the 40th such anniversary, I wanted to do something a bit more special.
So I bashed out a handful of Space Gypsy-related artworks in secret, and by a process of elimination selected one piece to be posted on the big day itself, with a couple of the runners up being incorporated into the background of this companion piece (some were later redrawn with SPCM characters).
I couldn't think of any ideas for a drawing which incorporated all ten major Space Gypsy characters, and I knew that whatever made the final cut, someone was going to get left out. As it turned out, one of those unfortunate someones was perennial fan favourite Jehlise Mossus - but as you can see, she's not the kind of kitten to take this sort of thing lying down!
