Name: Worg
Class: Beast (Canid)
Demeanor: Aggressive
--
Worg are a humanoid wolf-like carnivorous pack species. They mainly populate plains-like areas, but are present in all parts of Tareyn in varying concentrations of size and population.
-Worg almost always travel in packs, with the largest male elected as the Alpha Worg. If the Alpha Male should die, his mate, the Alpha Female, will take over as pack leader. Should they both die, the next largest male will be lead, and so forth.
-Worg are nocturnal and highly active in hunting during twilight hours. During the day, they retreat to caves or dimly lit areas to rest. Very rarely will a worg hunt out in open sunlight.
-Worg have excellent night vision and hearing, as well as an excellent sense of smell. They are also excellent at working as a unit. Worg have been known to take down groups of prey by coordinated strikes at opportune times.
-Worg have the ability to walk on their two hind legs, but will revert to all fours for maximum run speed. A worg is not as fast as some of the faster animals, but have extended stamina, and routinely chase prey faster then they and bring it down after it tires.
-Worg have little tolerance for weakness. If a pack member is injured or dying, they will leave that member to fend on its own. A worg without a pack is severely hindered, and will die shortly after its abandonment. Poachers routinely seek out these exiled worg in hopes of snagging a highly prized worg pelt to sell on the markets of trade towns.
