The Eurasian lynx enjoying a winter day.
The wild is hard, the winter is cold but the truly adapted will not only survive - they will thrive.
The supervisor of my masterproject and artwork project at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA - https://www.nina.no ) talked about 'changing the attitude of people towards large carnivores' . Especially local farmers see predators often just a murdermachine...forgetting that these are also sentient beings with feelings, leading their own lives. So when he talked about it I got the idea to show another side of the lynx than only a predator - one of a feeling being who can enjoy just a moment of life.
Based on a photo I had of my cat Jayto, I got the idea of a lynx sniffing up the fresh winter air and enjoying the snow. Actually much like me :)
Done with photoshop CS2 and Wacom tablet in few hours - dunno, usually such projects take approx. 8 hours.
