Yesterday night Eelea and I were just watching Family guy. And then it made 'klick'. The TV and the lights turned off. We were a little confused because there was no thunder-storm or something. We stood up and looked out of the window. It was all dark. The streetlamps, and as far as we could see at this moment, the other flats too.
Eelea looked at the breaker box, using my mobile as a flash lamp.
We realized, that we hadn't any candles or a flash lamp.
We decided, even if it was very late, to drive to the supermarked at the main station, which has opened until 00:00, I think.
So we had time until the bus was going to appear and we met the kiosk-owner standing in front of his dark shop.
We asked him for candles or something like that, but he hadn't had any. And he said: "It's not possible to call anyone per mobile, but you can send SMS and post things on Facebook. I dunno what to do with the ice cream in my freezer cabinet. But I posted on Facebook -Ice 50% off! Everything must go!!!"
|D Oh dude, that made me laugh.
Two guys at the bus station said that even the southern city was dark, because his buddy called him. (Dunno why he had reception...nya I hadn't because I tried to call my parents and ask if the electricity in the villages around Hanover was gone too, but it did not work.)
We catched the bus and went to the main station. Almost every street was dark and it was very difficult to see where we were.
Naturally the shops around the center of the city work through emergency generators. But even there, there were several 'dark islands'.
Man... when we stood on the dark streets and all those people around us were askin' what was going on, I felt like in one of those movies.
And I thoght: Gimme a break! It's not 2012 yet. XD
Nya we got a flash light and candles. SO next time, we are prepared.
When we got home half of the city had energy again.
The Town News say, that there would have been two unforeseen failures at our generating plant.
The blackout was all in one about 40 Minutes long and nobody was real harmed. But there were some burglaries. D:
It was real frightening because we did not know what was going on XD° Nobody did.
