A "sort of" tutorial, but more like me explaining my thought process. All the things I need to think about to get a foundation. These are the fundamental principles that you start with - drawing skill and shiny goo shading come after (I'm not even that good at it). But people ask me why I have such good, unique poses. Why my ideas are so creative and why things flow with such motion. The answer is this. Sorry if it's brief and doesn't actually help your art, but trust me: Have these in your mind and it will help you understand your art and your character more!

I really nice overview. For Material/weight, I lean towards what you denote as "rubber", something with high viscosity and surface tension, where it looks more or less solid at a glance. It's a form of goo I really don't see all that often (or at least not as often as I'd like; the more "drippy" looks tend to be more popular because they're more visually evocative I'd wager).
