Void as a concept is forged from the idea of splitting someone into two different people, Void being the side that was almost destroyed in this scenario. The idea that from his absorption into Raven and summary resurrection later on was the initial form this storied construct took.

Void's ability is an unknowable entity that is controlled purely by the truth that he sees in the world. Thus 'The Truth' is a collective ability that warps reality to what Void believes to be true, such as the character of people he meets and the idea that an Imperceptible method of harm cannot affect him in any way. It also tends to mean that his ability to destroy anyone in the most destructive manner possible is a terrifying prospect that the few who understand the extent of his ability have come to fear.

In reality though he was mortally wounded by the battle he and Raven had undertaken against their father many years ago, his 'absorption' actually led to a reconnection to his mother as he truly remembered her, the kind and loving creature he always wanted her to be. For many years before he could be reformed outside of what was later dubbed, 'The I-zone' he spent time coming to learn from and grow with his new adoptive family, a band of six sisters and his mother would be the bedrock upon which he would build his new self. All the way back then he would never have believed if anyone told him that he'd have someone like Astra at his side nor the little kitten that would follow a while after.

The items that are never out of arms reach are a display of Void's belief in others: The broken vow was a promise Void made with someone both he and Raven had fallen in love with, one which Raven gave up on but Void never could, even with the unsubtle suicide of said interest; The hair bands were a gift from his sister Bella, and a reminder as it straps tight to his wrist that he'll always have their support; The Omega Pack Catcher is a symbol of his mother's eternal love for him, 'that his dreams be sweet and his hopes a promise.'

Void was an interesting idea, given that his ability and story inspired difficult reconstructions of the lore of my world.
