My next NES pixel art I did shortly after first attempt with Zed game over screen art. I got excited by the idea of making simple illustrations for bad or just silly NES soundtracks which the console had in great variety, "visual associations" sort of thing, and so I did second one with French Baker theme from infamous Action 52 game. The track sounded more like Spanish hence the matador imagery and this association is actually a bit less accidental than it can seem. Several Action 52 tracks were actually stolen from The Music Studio for Atari St including French Baker theme which was called just Tango in The Music Studio, so you can see why it feels so Spanish.
It was pretty tough to fit into 256 unique tile limit and I had to resort to a lot of repetitive textures with reused tiles and still I had very little left for the red piece of cloth so its animation looks pretty silly but I think it fits the overall aesthetic of making animated associations for low quality NES music.
