This is the completed ch1 of my new story the shadow lands. I hope you enjoy let me know if there are any problems I still do not have names for the characters yet so bear with me. Now without further ado welcome to The Shadow Lands
The sky was dark with a full moon in the sky, and endless amounts of stars were visible. A Lonesome cub lays on his back looking up at the stars and side and said to him self “ Why does father hate me.” He heard a rustle in the grasses behind him, before he knew it his mother was standing over his head looking down on her son and said “ why do you think your father hates you, you are our pride and joy, and a blessing from the shadows of the past. The cub responded to his mother “ It is because I don't look anything like him, I look more like you than anything. He told me that he does think I am his son, because of my fur color and my eye color.
His mother came around and laid next to her son, and said “ You are your fathers son as well as my son, don't ever think that we don't love you because of your fur color or your eye color, you just got my traits, and not your fathers.”
Mother and son walked back to the cave that they call home. The cub looked into the shadows of the cave and sees green eyes reflecting back at him, he knows what this means. The cubs father comes out of the shadows, his dark brown coat starting to get lighter because of the sun that has started to rise in the sky. The cubs father speaks “ Son why were you so far out?” The cub tries to respond but gets intrepid by his father. The cub puts his head down and folds his ears agains his skull.
Father” You are to stay in this cave all day since you were out all night”
The cubs mother tried reasoning with the father but it made no difference.
The father left the cave while the mother tried talking to her cub that had started sulking “ You know why he is so hard on you don’t you?” The cub looked at his mother and said “ Yeah I do, but what is the point of being a cub and not exploring and going on adventures.” The mother told her son to come and lay down in her paws, and she would tell him a story of a great lion that she had met in the past.
“Now son lit me tell you a story of a lioness that had left home, to be on her own. She had some trying on how to survive but not much. One day she was walking the plains, she kept walking for a while until she turned her head to look back but she had hit a male on his head by accident. He had stumbled back.
She went to apologize but she had just paused, because something amazing happened, she looked at his eyes.
The cub looked up at his mother and said “ Mother why did she focus on his eyes?”
The cubs mother responded “ Well she had never seen a lions eyes like his before, they were just striking.”
She continued with her story “ The male looked at the female and said” I am sorry I guess I was not looking where I was going, are you ok?”
The Lionesses responded while she was starting to blush “ Yes I am fine are you?” She said this while looking at his striking figure.
The lion said back “ Glad you are ok I thought you were hurt.”
The cub interrupted his mother, and said “ Mother you didn’t mention why she was so interested in the male? And especially his eyes why did she focus on them?”
The cubs mother said “ Well his eyes were a dark green, and when the sub had reflected on them she could see that they started to glow a bright green. She had never seen this before in a lion like him. Especially his coat being a dark brown, and with a light color mane.”
The cub looked back at his mother and thought to him self “ That lion in the story that mother is telling sounds like father with the green eyes and the dark fur with his light mane. I think she is talking about father.
The cub continued looking at his mother, and when she was at a point in the story he could not hold in his question any longer, and said “ Mother that lion that you are talking about is that father?”
The cubs mother looked down at him and replied “ Yes my love, I am telling you the story of how me and your father met, we met totally on accident. We started to fall in love, we were outcasts, and soon enough with some time and patience the sun and the moon would bless us with you.”
“Aww mom don’t talk about that!!” the cub said
The cubs mother responded to her cub “ I love to tell this story because ventrally in our lives we would be blessed with you, and it is to show you that your father and I love you, we just want to help you succeed in life and, even one day when you grow up maybe you could find a lovely lioness to settle down with.
The cub jumped out of his mothers front legs and stubbed back but stayed upright and said “ Aww mom lets not talk about that now, that is still a long ways away.”
While the cub was talking with his mother, his father came back in to the cave and said “ Son, I have taken some time to think about the way that I lashed put at you for being out all night, I just want to apologize, I was just worried what could happen to you, I hope you can forgive me?”
The cub went over to his father and said “ I accept your apology father!” after the cub said that he jumped on his fathers mane, and pulled at his ear in play.
The cubs mother, came over and licked her mate on the cheek and whispered “ Thanks for apologizing dear, also I have a surprise for you, but it will have to wait until he is asleep, I have something very important to discuss with you.
