Well what I do when I color Skunks or Pandas. I use a dark Gray outline. And then use black. And the gray comes out good for the outline. Like my panda here. After I do the contrast and all the gray takes on a little redish color and helps to outline it.

Oh I see. Well I did two other Skunks for a Request. There colors are not skunk colors. But here thay are for refference. It might help. ;)
