"Spice... what... is all this?" Cyn asked. "It's pretty different from everything else we've seen so far."
The doctor said nothing, though he clearly wanted to.
"It's then, or how I think about then now. Or..." The Ninetales finally shook his head. "It's too complicated to explain, let's just move on, alright?"
"Sure dude." The Liepard pressed her side to his. "We can move on."
What started as an attempt to play around with colours and have a greater focus on background during a thing on stream ended up going a little further than I imagined, but I kind of like it. It led to an interesting discussion about the various mindscapes of my characters. Truth be told I'm not sure how much this reflects Spice, even Clearspring Spice who wants to redeem himself for everything that happened in his contest days. I think part of it is tucked away at the back of his mind though, waiting for the right pokemon to come along so he can acknowledge it.
Slightly more introspective piece than the rest of my gallery, but it's good to explore and experiment.

They're the same character in two different times, and in some cases AUs.
I use "Contest Spice" to refer to Spice before he came to Clearspring, and any non-canon stories featuring him remaining a contest Pokemon after Sore Losers.
I use "Clearspring Spice" to refer to Spice after he came to Clearspring and became its hero, generally considered to be the canon Spice.
